MarinOnTheMove.Org is a collaboration of organizations and individuals whose mission is to promote physical activity and healthy nutritional choices for all in Marin. It is sponsored by the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services.
In its first year, MarinOnTheMove.Org has:
- Adopted the “Theory of Change” model to guide its program orientation and development activities;
- Examined how to cost-effectively and creatively increase the level of physical activity and stress management for County employees;
- Participated in numerous seminars, trainings and symposia;
- Continued to build out the website, particularly for populations at high risk for activity related chronic disorders.
MarinOnTheMove.Org has organized a steering committee of Bay Area professionals (including nonprofit organizations, health care providers, and employees of private businesses). This Steering Committee ensures that the development of MarinOnTheMove.Org takes advantage of new findings and programs, is consistent with evidence-based practices and aligned with the Theory of Change.
